Yeah way to start the new year without a new piece of art. But I just wondered this not too long ago. How in the absolute HELL did THIS upload of mine wind up with 4000+ views? Demon Guy 5-9-12 by Dark-SpectrumDS

I am DEAD SERIOUS. It is absolutely not one of my best from that time. I drew this particular image in May 2012. I mean, it was back in my heyday but even my mature content pictures from then weren't even up there. They all stopped at about 3000+. But sometimes I wonder about how inflated views can be. I bet people were like oh, this looks like an interesting piece of art! Yeah, well, until they actually click on it and they're all like, oh, MY BAD and then they leave.

Well, that's certainly a valid evaluation of my gallery, especially back in my heyday. My thumbnail images are actually pretty good. My biggest issues involve getting people to stay, you know, keeping them interested? I am actually taking a class like that which is a requirement for graduation and it's supposed to help people like me get their gallery out there and keep confidence as an artist and junk. I'm gonna graduate this semester anyway so...

:bulletblue:Translation: This year I will hopefully create more artwork actually WORTHY of those views AND I will make sure to KEEP EVERYONE INTERESTED. So BE PATIENT please! I mean, if that's what you're expecting to see from my gallery. ^^;

Could have just been because of a certain group you put it in etc

Yeah, that's a good idea. I put it in about 20 groups. Perhaps it could also be the timing as well? I dunno. Seems like a happy accident or whatever to me. I don't remember if it was ever featured anywhere or anything either. Thanks though! ;u;

Dayuuum I haven't seen that one yet *drools for a while and fav*
As for the views, maybe this is the one showing up more often on the "more from this artist"? I mean, who knows XD?

Hey thanks! Yeah, that's a good idea. But I still don't quite get how that one of all things got that much visual attention. It ain't that stunning really. It only took about an hour or two and it was just for practice. ;u; Glad you like it though! :heart:

Even if it was done fast, is still a good drawing :nod: On a side note, I wish the "more from this artist" was customizable. It would be better if I could show only my best drawings in it :|

You should know that your stuff is pretty damn good and people like it, that's probably why you get so many views.

I know often you see the errors of your own work, we all do. But that's usually something that the artist sees that no one else sees and that's why everyone else is like "Wow this is awesome!" because they can't see the errors we see and they like it.

Have a little more faith in your work :u

Aw, thanks a lot!^^ But yeah, that's the thing. That drawing was done in my heyday year of 2012 when I was just getting used to college and trying to draw more after not drawing anything except for class for the past few months from September to December 2011. It was a time for a lot of up and coming artists. Since this never happened to me again, I guess I missed out on that opportunity. You should see what goes on when I make attempts to converse more than this. Nobody wants to hang with a retired, has-been like me after only having this activity for less than a year. ;u;

. _ . Pfffffffft guuuuuurl have you SEEN my gallery? I don't think I have anything REMOTELY close to 1000 views and rarely more than 10 likes on anything XD You're doing just fine

Anyone who doesn't want to talk to you is the real hasbeen :U suriously! ^-^ some people are just a little to arrogant on this website, but I'm certain if you found someone like Destinyfall or me or a few of your watchers, you'll get plenty of people who would happily talk to you and you'd see that it's not all bad :D

Honestly it's artists like you and Destinyfall that have made me want to continue arting because I can have a good conversation with other artists, and artists who know kind of what I'm going through with lack of attention/exposure and make me feel less like crap about it. Heck, whenever she (or you) favorite something of mine I feel like I've made it far more than I do when some random person does -though that feels nice- because it's like "man the person I look up to, likes something I made... that's AWESOME!" ... it's part of the reason why I don't mind commissioning either of you, because you're nice people and good to work with, you don't walk around with "I'm this god amongst artists, bow before me or be unseen~" arrogance around you, you're both like "meh, i guess my work is okay, there are much better people on here though" and it's kind of nice to see that any skill level, people can still be good and humble and feel like their work isn't the best. And it's really the curse of an artist to feel that way about your stuff. Hell a good friend of mine is a professional graphic designer and while he'll talk big game for clients, he's always like "why do people pay for this crap? I'm like THE WORST artist ever... look at how stupid that little chip looks, and I can't make it go away UGH!!!" X3 so... I don't know, I might have lost what I was trying to say in that mess there XD but the point is, anyone who wouldn't talk to you thinking you're a hasbeen or that you're not worth it because you're lacking X, Y or Z is someone who is really missing out. :)

ha ha, share your knowledge! I've been here 12 years and still can't get people to give two shits what I do. I'd be better off drawing neon emo dogs. lol

Aw, haha. Tell me about it. Never got close to this in all my years after that. I already became a retired, has-been in less than a year. You should see what goes on when I make attempts to converse more than this. It's like I kinda fell back down. So I guess we're pretty much in the same boat now. X3
